The location for Sankt Gilgen was particularly good, just next door to Berchtesgaden & Ramsau in Germany. The food in the dining area was fresh and good.

This place was amazing in general with a lovely staff team. Also, location was stunning and brilliant, right by a mountain-fringed lake. The area was pretty nice next to Berchtesgaden and the center of town where there are several good restaurants and cafes and ferries going to Wolfgang. Generally everything was great, however the bathroom was old. I really enjoyed the adequate breakfast served with home-made food.
Views appeared to be not so good.

the setting was incredible, near ferries going to wolfgang and strol and the cable car station, cable car, bus stop, lake and bus station. btw, a fringed lake was placed just 1 km from the hotel. the staff was really friendly and we loved its continental breakfast.

The location of the hotel is perfect, situated in a beautiful village with stunning views of the lake. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-decorated, with comfortable beds and a nice, bright decor. The staff is friendly and welcoming, providing excellent service throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet offers a good selection of food, including delicious sausages and bacon. the hotel provides a full kitchen pantry, which is convenient for families with small kids.
The towels in the bathroom could use an upgrade.

Lovely hotel, rustic atmosphere
Our room at Hotel-Garni Schernthaner was beautifully decorated with a rustic charm. The spacious balcony offered breathtaking views of St. Gilgen and Mount Schafberg. The staff kindly carried our luggage to the room and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the convenience of being just a short walk away from the bus stop and the cable car to Zwölferhorn. I highly recommend this charming hotel for a lovely stay in St. Gilgen.
